Driver flees on foot after hit-and-run injures two of his passengers in Desert Hot Springs

The driver of an off-road utility vehicle fled the scene of a traffic collision that injured two of his passengers in Desert Hot Springs on Saturday.

Police responded to the area of Palm Drive and 20th Avenue for a reported traffic accident around 2:20 p.m., the Desert Hot Springs Police Department said in a press release. The police department said “it appears the UTV crossed Palm Drive from east to west and failed to yield to southbound traffic causing the pickup truck to collide with the UTV.”

The police department said the UTV driver fled the scene on foot but investigators have identified him. Police did not release his identity but said he is an adult man.
