Eamonn Holmes defended as he says he ‘can’t look after himself’ in emotional update

Eamonn Holmes has been flooded with messages of support from his fans, while some jumped to his defence after he admitted he ‘can’t look after himself’.

The GB News star was recently seen alongside his friend and singer Jo O’Meara and they were joined by two adorable four-legged friends. They appeared in a Christmassy setting as they informed fans of a carol-singing event to raise money for the K-9 Angels charity, co-founded by Jo, with an aim of saving animals globally.

Alongside the first video of the pair, Eamonn wrote: “Thursday December 5th . Happy Christmas. Come and say Ho ho,ho and sing Carols in Chiswick West London. To purchase tickets for this fabulous fundraiser just follow @thek9angels where you’ll find the link for tickets in their Linktree Make a Christmas wish come true for these little doggies. Thank you.”

But Eamonn has since returned to Instagram with another video alongside Jo in which the former This Morning star celebrated their charity work and introduced dog Bella, who is in need of a “perfect home”.

And it was in the clip that Eamonn, 64, said: “Think about giving Bella a home. If I could walk and look after myself she would be mine but instead you could be me. Talk to [the K-9 Angels],” before he went on to call Bella an “absolutely lovely doggie”.

Eamonn’s fans and followers were quick to respond with @cosy_days_in writing: “Thank you for using your platform to try and help these dogs.” @crkinley01 said: “Oh she is lovely. Hopefully you will get stronger and be able to get another dog.” @swainseb commented: “Bella looks very cute Eamonn. Hope you are taking good care of yourself.” @janetidsey replied: “Aww hope she finds a furever home soon.”

Others, however, were keen to defend Eamonn from ‘nasty’ comments as his personal life, including his recent split from wife Ruth Langsford, was dragged through the comments section.

@adair_brenda posted: “This is about trying to rehome this beautiful girl nothing to do with Eamonns personal life. Don’t be nasty there is none of us perfect. Good luck Bella.” @fran.garner.52 added: “Amazing comments, showing that some people are very nasty and small minded but also we know nothing about their marriage plus it’s not our business and since we don’t know them, we shouldn’t comment.”
