Eamonn Holmes responded to a fan as they gave him a public marriage proposal amid his divorce from Ruth Langsford. The former This Morning duo announced the end of their relationship in May after 14 years of marriage.
Eamonn and Ruth married in June 2010 after 13 years of dating. The pair share one son, Jack, while Eamonn also has three children, Declan, Rebecca and Niall, from his first marriage to his first wife Gabrielle.
While Ruth hasn’t been seen on screens since the news was confirmed, Eamonn returned to his GB News breakfast show on May 28, following news of the divorce, and he addressed the fact his relationship has been the subject of headlines.

“Just before we move on I would like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation,” he said. “Your support for both of us is very much appreciated.”
The 64-year-old has since continued to post to social media as normal and on Thursday (July 11) he shared a new selfie with his 801,000 followers. He gave a mild pout towards the camera as he lifted one eyebrow for the picture, which was taken in his car.
He captioned the photo: “Beautiful Hot day today [sun emoji] Enjoying the cool shade in the car [car emoji] What u up to?” Eamonn then got stuck into the comments as his fans and followers responded – even with a marriage proposal.
One smitten fan wrote to the former ITV star: “Can I marry you?” to which Eamonn answered: “Now that cheered me up, Liz.” Another eager fan added in the thread: “She’s going to have to wait in the queue,” while another said: “Eyes off Liz. If Eamonn’s marrying anyone it’s me.”
It comes after Eamonn was flooded with support from fans as he gave a brief update on what he described as a ‘hard’ struggle. Those who follow the former This Morning presenter will know he has been battling issues with chronic pain for the past few years.
Eamonn, who is now reliant on walking aids, has since documented his attempts to beat the chronic pain, sharing insights into his rehab sessions as well as being honest when things aren’t quite as good as they should be. But last weekend, fans were delighted as he posted a picture where he could be seen standing without his frame.
He captioned the photo, in which he’s wearing a smart shirt under a blue jumper, white trousers and blue shoes: “Hard to stand up but next my aim is to walk. Off to a birthday party today. What about you?” Eamonn’s fans and followers were quick to share messages of support.
