EastEnders Nish ‘not really dead’ as fans ‘work out’ true identity of body in huge twist

EastEnders fans are convinced Nish Panesar isn’t actually dead.

Soap villain Nish (Navin Chowdhry) was killed off this week, putting an end to his reign of terror. Fans will recall how Nish has been hell-bent on getting revenge on Suki (Balvinder Sopal) and Eve (Heather Peace) since finding out about their affair.

Last month, he escaped prison – and has since been in hiding, waiting for Suki and Eve’s wedding day to enact his final revenge. During Wednesday’s explosive episode (January 1), several lives were left hanging in the balance.

After Suki and Eve tied the knot, it was revealed that Nish had poisoned Eve’s champagne and she collapsed in the honeymoon suite. Nish then showed up and revealed to Suki what he had done, leaving her heartbroken.

He told her: “She’s gone now, and there’s nothing you can do,” before pouring two more poisoned drinks: for her and for him. A fight then ensued in which Nish tried to convince Suki they were meant to be together no matter what.

Nish then dragged her onto the balcony – before Ravi (Aaron Thiara) arrived. Ravi confronted nasty Nish and ended up pushing him over the balcony, pulling Suki with him.

In Thursday’s instalment (January 2), the ambulance turned up, with Suki and Eve being taken to the hospital. It was also confirmed that Nish had taken the brunt of the fall – which could have saved Suki’s life.

Over in the hospital, it was revealed that Eve had survived the ordeal. She then rushed to the bedside of Suki and begged her to fight and wake up. Moments later, in emotional scenes, Suki woke up – leaving the pair in tears that they had finally won and Nish was dead.

However, some viewers are certain the soap bad guy isn’t actually dead. On an EastEnders Facebook fan page, one person mused: “He’s not dead.” Other viewers replied and shared their theories: “What if he hired a lookalike to go up there.”

Meanwhile, another predicted a secret twin twist ahead, and wrote: “Or maybe a secret long-lost twin?” Another chimed in on the social media platform and agreed: “I still don’t think it’s over so I can see this happening ngl.”

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
