EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy set to make ‘millions’ as next career move ‘confirmed’

Natalie Cassidy could be set to coin it in after her EastEnders exit and see “lots of opportunities” on the horizon, an expert has claimed.

The 41-year-old soap legend, who has played Sonia Fowler in EastEnders for more than 30 years, is set to leave the show this month as the BBC series celebrates its landmark 40th anniversary.

It would appear that Natalie isn’t short of options when she finally packs her bags and leaves Albert Square, however, as she’s already been tipped to compete in a huge ITV reality show.

In addition to possible stints with Netflix and Hollywood, the much-loved actress could potentially find herself in the I’m A Celebrity jungle, with brand expert Nick Ede suggesting she could rake in a “couple more million”.

Nick said: “She’s going to be even more famous and making a couple more million. There are lots of opportunities. She’s really trusted and liked.”

In fact, Natalie seems to be branching out already, after leaving The Masked Singer fans gobsmacked when it was revealed that she was the celebrity masquerading as Bush, writes Bella magazine.

Natalie first appeared in EastEnders back in 1993 before leaving in 2007. However, she made a comeback to Albert Square from 2010 to 2011, and once again in 2014.

Speaking about her exit in a statement, Natalie said: “I feel extremely sad to be writing this, but also very excited. After another 11 solid years back on the square, I have decided it’s time to move on to pastures new. EastEnders is in my bones so I will never forget where I started my career and I will continue to love the show.”

In one of her other ventures, the Life With Nat podcast, the actress suggested that her decision to leave the show came about after she marked her 40th birthday.

She explained that she felt like she had been on the same “pathway” for a while and was now ready for a major change. Yet, The Sun also suggests a move from the BBC could prove lucrative for Natalie, as the broadcaster doesn’t allow its stars to have commercial deals.

Nick told the publication that the soap actress is also set to take advantage of social media for promotion, and is also due to star in a couple of Channel 4 documentaries.

Talking about her EastEnders exit, Natalie told The Sun on Sunday that as she turns 42 this year, she thinks it’s “time to be brave”, as she doesn’t want to reach her 70s and end up regretting that she “never tried” other opportunities.
