Emmerdale’s Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) is set to make a shocking discovery as his daughter April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan), remains missing. The teen vanished from her home on Christmas Day, leaving Marlon and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), in a state of despair as they frantically search for her.
In the upcoming episodes, Marlon and Mary (Louise Jameson), continue their desperate search for April but return home disheartened. They are soon joined by Anna, their family liaison officer, as secrets start to unravel from a distressed Marlon.
Marlon confesses that April was upset after discovering the truth about her mother’s death, leading to a police search of their home. Meanwhile, Ross Barton (Mike Parr), feels guilty about April’s disappearance and confides in Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), who encourages him to help find her.

As police investigate Smithy cottage, Marlon and Rhona find that money and some of April’s belongings are missing, leading them to the shocking conclusion – she planned to run away. Shortly after, Anna reveals they have found contraceptive pills in April’s room.
Marlon begins to feel he has failed April as the search continues, staring out of the window while overwhelmed with grief.
The next day, while putting up posters in the Woolpack, Marlon confronts Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker). However, when the villagers join the search, Marlon stumbles upon another clue in the form of April’s social media activity. But what will he discover?
In a separate storyline, viewers will see Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) starting his first day in A&E in a standalone episode. What could possibly go wrong?

Jacob is briefed by his supervisor Dr. Todd and soon finds himself dealing with the stress of an incoming stab victim. He recognises April’s purse on the victim and panics, calling Marlon.
However, he is quickly reprimanded by Dr. Todd for informing the family about his discovery, clearly displeased with his conduct.
As Marlon and Rhona arrive at the hospital seeking information, Jacob watches on. The tension in the family room escalates as time passes without any updates on the victim’s condition.
Jacob is left distraught when he witnesses a nurse delivering heartbreaking news to Marlon and Rhona. Amidst this turmoil, he is approached by a fellow medical student just as Charity bursts in with an intoxicated Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) who suddenly collapses.
Jacob immediately steps in to assist Sarah, but not without offering her some stern advice. In response, she later makes a confession.

Feeling stressed, Jacob finds solace in forming a bond with an elderly patient named Henry.
Meanwhile, outside the hospital, Moira (Natalie Robb) and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) arrive for her appointment. Moira is taken aback upon spotting Jacob at the hospital.
They meet with the radiation oncologist to discuss the treatment plan, and Moira becomes emotional during her mask fitting.
At the hospital, Cain strikes up a conversation with Henry, an elderly patient who reminds him of his late father, leaving Moira distressed when Cain isn’t immediately available post-procedure.
On New Year’s Eve, Emmerdale plans to broadcast five flashforwards – but what secrets will they uncover?
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
