Emergency officials have begun issuing evacuation orders and warnings for large swaths of territory surrounding a 25-plus acre wildfire in a remote area about 10 miles northeast of Montague, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
Shortly after 5 p.m., Cal Fire said the Bogus Fire was burning out of control south of the Klamath River and in the area of Little Bogus Creek Road and south of Ager Beswick Road. There was no containment on the blaze.
Evacuation orders had been issued for the area around Ager Beswick Road and Little Bogus Creek Road.
There were two evacuation centers established for those displaced by the Bogus Fire, according to the Siskiyou County Office of Emergency Services.
