Exonerated Jacksonville man Edward Clayton Taylor found guilty of attempted murder

A Jacksonville man who spent more than 30 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit has now been found guilty of a different crime.

Edward Clayton Taylor was found guilty on Friday of attempted murder.

We told you in 2022 when police say Taylor walked up to the victim and shot him in the chest.

His sentencing for the attempted murder charge is set to be scheduled on January 13.

Separate jury instructions have been filed for his charge of possession of a firearm as a convicted felon.
