Father-son chop shop busted in Northern California home

(FOX40.COM) — A father and son are facing charges in connection to opening a chop shop in the garage of their Turlock home, according to the Turlock Police Department.

For several months Officer Lupe with the Turlock Police Department investigated the home on suspicions of it being connected to auto thefts.

On Tuesday, a search warrant was issued at the home in the 100 block of Sodestorm Lane where numerous vehicle parts were found in the garage and even inside of a vehicle.

Some of the parts included transmissions and engines, including one stolen engine that was found inside a 1970s Camaro.

The son is facing charges for operating a chop shop, six counts of possession of stolen property, and possession of burglary tools.

This operation was done in partnership with the Turlock Police Department, the Stanislaus County Auto Theft Task Force (STANCATT) and the Turlock Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and Detectives
