The first significant rain event of the season is currently on track to arrive in Southern California this weekend.
Cool conditions will continue Monday but temperatures are expected to climb again on Tuesday and Wednesday.
“So, this week we’re going to warm things up a little bit. Tomorrow we get a pop of higher pressure and an offshore flow,” KTLA Meteorologist Henry DiCarlos said.
Santa Ana winds and plenty of sunshine are also expected through Wednesday but Thursday will be a transition day.
“We start bringing in some clouds and we have a really good-looking storm and a trailing cold front that’s going to be here by Saturday morning,” Henry said.

Rain chances will spread from the northwest to the southeast, the National Weather Service stated in its forecast Monday.
“All eyes then turn to the Friday through Sunday period when the first significant rainfall of the season is possible,” the Weather Service said. Forecasters also mentioned that the weather models are not in agreement so they “will have to take a wait-and-see approach for an exact forecast.”
At this point, about three-quarters of an inch of rain is expected north of Point Conception and a quarter to a half inch of rain further south.
“This will be a very warm system so, no snow for the local mountains,” the Weather Service said.
