We’ve hit the home stretch of the 2024 college football regular season.
There are just three weeks to go before conference championship week in the first week of December. Week 12 isn’t the most loaded slate, but it does feature two games between ranked opponents and games all over the country that have implications in conference title races.
Here’s what we’re watching closest in Week 13. (Scroll down to follow the action live.)
Missouri QB Brady Cook is listed as doubtful for Saturday’s game and Drew Pyne is his replacement if he can’t go. South Carolina has won three straight games after its two-point loss to Alabama. Gamecocks QB LaNorris Sellers has accounted for five TDs and nearly 500 passing yards over the last two games and hasn’t thrown an interception.
Is this the toughest game remaining on the Ducks’ regular-season schedule? We won’t get into tiebreakers here, but if Oregon wins Saturday night it will likely play the winner of next week’s game between Indiana and Ohio State in the Big Ten title game. Wisconsin enters the game on a two-game losing streak.
Vols QB Nico Iamaleava is reportedly set to play after going through the concussion protocol earlier in the week. Georgia is out of the College Football Playoff mix with a loss; the Vols’ visit on Saturday night gave the committee an easy out with its placement of the Bulldogs on Tuesday.
Your eyes aren’t fooling you. The undefeated top-10 BYU Cougars are favored by just a field goal at home against a team that has a losing record. Overall, four of BYU’s nine wins have come by a single possession and Kansas just took down Iowa State in Week 11.
The Razorbacks have made it a one-possession game in the second half after a short TD run by Ja’Quinden Jackson.
Texas 13, Arkansas 7
Touchdown Colorado!
On the very next play, Colorado gets a rare rushing touchdown on a 37-yard sprint by Isaiah Augustave.
Interception Colorado!
The Buffs have another turnover as Isaac Wilson throws his second interception of the game — this one goes to Colorado’s Nikhai Hill-Green and the Buffs have the ball deep in Utah territory.
We’re back for the second half of the Big 12 battle between Utah and Colorado. The Utes have the ball and will need some touchdowns to stay in this thing.
Scoreboard update
Here’s where things stand as the first wave of games hits halftime.
Touchdown Ohio State
The Buckeyes tack on another touchdown out of the break on another connection from Will Howard to Carnell Tate.
Halftime: Colorado 21, Utah 9
The Utes added a field goal just before the break, but it’s been a one-sided Big 12 battle so far.
Touchdown Colorado
Travis Hunter just had another wild play to put the Buffs in scoring position and then Will Shepherd caught his second touchdown of the day from Shedeur Sanders.
Liberty has fallen off a bit after that loss to Kennesaw State, but a defeat to UMass would be all sorts of embarrassing.
Utah settles for FG
The Utes got another turnover deep in Colorado territory but were unable to do much with it again. QB Isaac Wilson is going to have to complete some passes in order for Utah to stay in this game.
Colorado 14, Utah 6
Fumble recovered by Utah!
The Utes have another turnover after a self-inflicted error by Shedeur Sanders. He just dropped the snap and the Utes fell on it.
Touchdown Ohio State
The Buckeyes have restored order in their Big Ten clash with Northwestern. Will Howard finds Carnell Tate on a corner route to double Ohio State’s lead.
Touchdown Ohio State
The Buckeyes take the lead for the first time in the game on another short TD run by Quinshon Judkins.
Touchdown Clemson
The Tigers take the lead again on another pass from Cade Klubnik to Antonio Williams — this one is for a 28-yard touchdown.
Ohio State ties it up with Northwestern
The Buckeyes have leveled things in their Big Ten tilt against Northwestern on a short run by Quinshon Judkins.
Interception Colorado!
Who other than Travis Hunter comes down with the interception for the Buffs. Utah QB Isaac Wilson threw a rainbow and it was tipped right into the hands of the Heisman frontrunner for the pick.
Touchdown Colorado
The Buffs add another first quarter score on special teams as LaJohntay Wester returns a punt 76 yards for a TD.
Colorado 14, Utah 3
Touchdown Pitt!
The Panthers respond in kind with a touchdown drive of their own. Daniel Carter pushed his way into the end zone for a short score, but Desmond Reid did most of the work on the drive with a 43-yard run.
Touchdown Colorado!
The Buffs respond right away with a touchdown drive capped off by a 40-yard pass from Shedeur Sanders to Antonio Williams.
Touchdown Clemson
The Tigers are on the board first in Pittsburgh after Cade Klubnik found Antonio Williams in the end zone.
Touchdown Texas!
The Longhorns take advantage of the turnover and score the first points of the game as Quinn Ewers finds Matthew Golden wide-open for a touchdown.
Interception Texas!
The Longhorns are getting off on the right foot in Fayetteville. Jahdae Barron just picked off Taylen Green to get Texas the ball back with great field position.
Utah settles for FG
The Utes aren’t able to do much with the ball after the turnover and settle for a short field goal to take the lead.
Utah 3, Colorado 0
Interception Utah!
On the first play of the game, Utah’s Lander Barton falls back into coverage and picks off Shedeur Sanders before returning it to the edge of the red zone.
Shedeur Sanders and the Buffs will start with the ball in Boulder.
We are underway with our first wave of games!
We’ll mostly be focusing in on Utah-Colorado and Texas-Arkansas in this opening window, but we’ll also drop in highlights from around the country.
