Follow live: Time runs out on No. 2 Buckeyes, who fall to No. 3 Ducks in wild showdown

We knew it’d be a tall task for Week 7 to match the drama of Week 6, but it’s been almost as thrilling.

In the marquee matchup of the day, No. 3 Oregon held on to beat No. 2 Ohio State 32-31 in a back-and-forth thriller in Eugene. The Big Ten showdown was the first top-three matchup of the season and delivered at every turn with lead changes galore.

Earlier in the day, No. 7 Alabama dealt with another nail-biter at home against South Carolina. The Crimson Tide needed some late-game defensive heroics to survive against the Gamecocks in a 27-25 thriller. Later on, No. 4 Penn State needed a comeback of its own before eking out a 33-30 win in overtime at the Coliseum.

Meanwhile, the No. 1 team in the country left no question as to how its Red River Rivalry game with Oklahoma was going to go. The Longhorns allowed an early field goal before scoring 34 straight points in a rout at the Cotton Bowl.

Here’s what we’ll be watching late Saturday night. Follow all the action live below.

Time: 10:15 p.m. | TV: ESPN | Line: Kansas State -4 | Total: 56.5

Kansas State is a good measuring stick for what appears to be an improved Buffaloes squad. The team has already matched its win total from 2023 and is just two victories away from bowl eligibility. The biggest test for Colorado will be up front on defense. Teams are averaging over 150 rushing yards a game against the Buffaloes and KSU RB DJ Giddens and QB Avery Johnson are each averaging 7.3 yards a carry.
