Food Bank plans distributions

Food Bank of Northern Indiana has announced it will continue mobile food distributions in December.

Assorted food items are offered free of charge on a first-come-first-served basis while supplies last for those in need of assistance. One box/bag per household is allowed.

These are drive-thru distributions. Participants are asked to remain in their vehicle and open their trunk to receive items. An area in the lot will be available to load items if the trunk does not open.

Here are the distribution times and locations (all times are local):

LaPorte County: 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, HOPE, 222 McClelland Ave., Michigan City; this distribution is sponsored by the City of Michigan City and will serve 200 households

Marshall County: 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Dec. 3, Trinity Lutheran Church, 430 Academy Road, Culver, ; this distribution is sponsored by United Way of Marshall County and will serve 200 households

LaPorte County: 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Dec. 4, LaPorte County Fairgrounds, 2581 West S.R. 2, LaPorte; this distribution is sponsored by Citizens Concerned for the Homeless and will serve 350 households

Kosciusko County: 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Dec. 5, the former Helping Hands Food Pantry, 10072 W. 600 S., Mentone; this distribution is sponsored by MHS and will provide USDA product and serve 150 households

Starke County: 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, Knox United Methodist Church, 201 S. Shield St., Knox; this distribution is sponsored by MHS and will provide USDA product and will serve 250 households

Marshall County: 10 a.m. noon Monday, Dec. 9, Argos United Methodist Church, 570 N. Michigan St., Argos; this distribution is sponsored by MHS and will provide produce only for 200 households

LaPorte County: 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Dec. 10, Midwest Electronics, 1247 E. Michigan Blvd., Michigan City; this distribution is sponsored by the City of Michigan City and will serve 200 households

Elkhart County: 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Dec. 11, Excel Center, 2626 Prairie St., Elkhart; this distribution is sponsored by COSTCO and will serve 200 households

St. Joseph County: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, the former Bargain Lane building, 1302 Elwood Ave., South Bend; this distribution is sponsored by COSTCO and will serve 200 households

Marshall County: 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, Plymouth Parks, 1660 N. Michigan St. by the pool parking lot, Plymouth; this distribution is sponsored by United Way of Marshall County and will serve 250 households

St. Joseph County: 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, the former Bargain Lane building, 1302 Elwood Ave., South Bend; this distribution is sponsored by Popeye’s and will serve 100 households

LaPorte County: 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Dec. 18, Marquette Mall, 201 W. US 20, Michigan City; this distribution is sponsored by Citizens Concerned for the Homeless and will serve 350 households

Elkhart County: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, Hawthorne Elementary School, 501 Lusher St., Elkhart; this distribution is sponsored by Hershey and will serve 200 households

St. Joseph County: 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Dec. 27, Kennedy Academy, 609 N. Olive St., South Bend; this distribution is sponsored by Hershey and will serve 200 households

St. Joseph County: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, Liberty Elementary School, 600 Pregel Dr., Mishawaka; this distribution is sponsored by The Hershey Company and will serve 200 households

Elkhart County: 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Dec. 31, Osolo Elementary School, 24975 C.R. 6 East, Elkhart; this distribution is sponsored by The Hershey Company and will serve 200 households
