Former medical assistant at Irving pediatric practice faces 2nd child indecency charge

A medical assistant formerly employed by a North Texas pediatrics practice faces a second charge of indecency with a child, officials said.

Twenty-five-year-old Angel Nunez was arrested Oct. 9. He is accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with a 9-year-old in January 2024 at Little Spurs Pediatrics in Irving, according to a news release from the Irving Police Department.

Nunez worked at offices of Little Spurs Pediatrics in Fort Worth, Irving, Grand Prairie and Arlington between August 2023 and August 2024. He was initially arrested Sept. 5 after police investigators were made aware of allegations that he sexually abused multiple children during their medical examinations, officials said.

He was released from the Dallas County Jail on $100,000 bond on Sept. 7.

An investigation found that Nunez “had inappropriate sexual contact with multiple juvenile patients on separate occasions,” police said in a Sept. 26 release. “These patients believed they were receiving a medical exam and were not aware at the time that they were being abused.”

Little Spurs opened an internal investigation into Nunez and terminated his employment, the clinic said in a statement.

The investigation into this case is ongoing. According to the release, the circumstances surrounding the second indecency offense were similar to what occurred with two victims who came forward in August.

Investigators are encouraging anyone who may have interacted with Nunez to discuss this with their children, family members and friends.
