Dec. 21—JAMESTOWN — Four people were sentenced recently on felony charges in Southeast District Court in Jamestown.
Sydney Marie Dockter, 26, New Rockford, North Dakota, pleaded guilty to child abuse-victim under 6, a Class B felony, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and endangerment of a child, Class C felonies.
Dockter was accused of being a parent, adult family or household member, guardian or other custodian of any child and inflicting or allowing to be inflicted on a child who was younger than 6 years old mental or bodily injury, substantial bodily injury or serious bodily injury on July 8, causing or permitting a child to be exposed to, ingest or inhale or have contact with methamphetamine and/or methamphetamine paraphernalia on July 12 and; possessing one or more pipes and/or smoking devices used with methamphetamine on July 11 and July 12 with a previous conviction in 2020.

Judge Troy LeFevre sentenced Dockter to 18 months in the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation with credit for 12 days served. LeFevre placed Dockter on two years supervised probation and ordered her to pay a $35 indigent defense application fee, $300 indigent recoupment and a $25 victim-witness fee.
A Class B felony is punishable by 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. A Class C felony is punishable by five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Ashton Elisha Newman, 19, Jamestown, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, a Class C felony, and criminal mischief and domestic violence-bodily injury, Class B misdemeanors.
Newman was accused of hitting an individual in the head on Aug. 20 and causing bodily injury to a family or household member and tampering with property of another on July 16.

Judge James Shockman sentenced Newman to 180 days in the Stutsman County Correctional Center with credit for 112 days served. Shockman placed Newman on two years supervised probation. Newman was ordered to not possess or own firearms, to have no contact with certain individuals and to complete a domestic violence evaluation and recommended treatment. Shockman also ordered Newman to pay a $525 criminal administration fee, $200 defense/facility administration fee, $70 indigent defense application fee, $300 indigent recoupment and $50 victim-witness fee.
A Class B misdemeanor is punishable by 30 days in prison and a $1,500 fine.
Christopher Houston Perman, 34, Jamestown, pleaded guilty to failure to register as a sexual offender, a Class C felony.
Perman was accused of being an individual required to register as a sexual offender and failing to register a change in address within three days with the local law enforcement agency.

Shockman sentenced Perman to nine months in the Stutsman County Correctional Center with credit for 25 days served. Shockman placed Perman on 18 months supervised probation and ordered him to pay a $400 criminal administration fee, $100 defense/facility administration fee and a $25 victim-witness fee.
Torre Louis Allan Risberg, 30, Jamestown, pleaded guilty to prohibited acts A/controlled substances, a Class C felony.
Risberg was accused of manufacturing, delivering or possessing with intent to deliver marijuana on March 19.
Shockman sentenced Risberg to three years in the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation with three years suspended. Shockman placed Risberg on 12 months supervised probation and ordered him to submit to fingerprints and complete 24 hours of community service by Dec. 21. Risberg was also ordered to pay a $25 community service supervision fee, $400 criminal administration fee, $100 defense/facility administration fee and a $25 victim-witness fee.
