A four-year-old girl has died just days after a house fire killed her mother and seriously injured her brother.
Papa Kante told CBS that his daughter, passed away Tuesday after a fire in their Harlem apartment on Friday.
The blaze broke out around 1:30 a.m. Friday inside an apartment building at the corner of West 112th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard, according to the network.
Papa explained that he was at work when his wife, Adianatou-Nene Korouma phoned him, panicked about the fire.
Korouma, their daughter and their 3-week-old son, Souleymane, were taken to a local hospital.
On Friday evening, Korouma was pronounced dead.
Kante says their daughter had been stable, but she took a turn and died Tuesday.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help Kante pay for his wife and his daughter’s funerals.
It reads: “As Papa and Nene’s neighbors, we’re starting a fundraiser for Papa and his children. The money will be deposited directly to Papa’s bank account and used for: funeral expenses for Nene and for their daughter, childcare and to provide for the family while Papa takes the time off from work to care for them and heal.”
