The Dow’s bid to snap its losing streak picked up steam midmorning.
The blue-chip index was up 230 points, or 0.5%, shortly before 11 a.m. ET. It has fallen nine trading days in a row, which is its longest losing streak since 1978.
After dragging on the Dow for much of this month, UnitedHealth Group shares were up 3.3% and adding about 100 points to the index. Nvidia, another Dow laggard of late, was up 4.3%. Of the 30 stocks in the index, 21 were rising.
