Gov. Polis gives Colorado Creates Grant to Western Slope facilities

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Governor Jared Polis and the Colorado Creative Industries Division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade have announced that 125 arts organizations across 33 Colorado counties have been awarded $909,000 in Colorado Creates Grants. One of those counties is Mesa County.

These grants will help organizations and communities create art and cultural activities by providing general operating support. Grantees will receive funding for two years, totaling $1,818,000 in awards over the funding period.

Two organizations awarded this grant are The Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra and The Art Center of Western Colorado. Grant funds will help with operation and expansion and allow communities/organizations to continue creating, grantees will receive funding for two years.
