Grand Forks man to serve 10 years for multiple methamphetamine charges

Jan. 28—GRAND FORKS — A Grand Forks man was ordered Monday, Jan. 27, to serve 10 years in prison for selling methamphetamine.

Robert Barrett Yahnke, 61, pleaded guilty to two Class A felonies: delivery of at least 50 grams of methamphetamine and possession of at least 50 grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

Yahnke also pleaded guilty to four Class B felonies, including methamphetamine delivery and three counts of methamphetamine possession with intent.

He was arrested after

selling methamphetamine to an undercover agent and confidential informant

on five separate occasions, according to an affidavit filed in the case. The contents added up to approximately 137.8 grams.

Yahnke was granted a plea agreement that sentenced him to 20 years with the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, first serving 10 years, with credit for 139 days served.

He will be on supervised probation for three years. Conditions of his sentence include forfeiting all seized items and completing a chemical dependency evaluation.
