Oct. 2—U.S. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries will be in New Mexico this week for various events with the state’s three House members.
While information about certain events is under embargo, the office of U.S. Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández announced Wednesday she would be joining Jeffries for a news conference Friday in Albuquerque “to discuss the growing effects of the homeownership and housing affordability crisis.”
The news conference will focus on Leger Fernández’s proposed Home of Your Own Act, which would provide one-time, $30,000 homeownership grants to help Americans become first-time homeowners, a news release states.
