The S.C. Department of Education released its report cards on every South Carolina school this week.
The report cards, based on the 2023-24 school year, rank every school on a 100-point scale and gives every school a designation based on where they fall.
In Lexington County, the rankings produced 13 excellent schools, 18 ranked good, 27 average, 11 blow average and two unsatisfactory.
The schools that earned the top excellent ranking include:

▪ Meadow Glen Elementary

▪ Midway Elementary
▪ New Providence Elementary
▪ Pleasant Hill Middle

Lexington-Richland 5
▪ Chapin High
▪ Chapin Intermediate
▪ Spring Hill High
Those schools that achieved a good ranking are:

Statewide, 230 schools (18.3%) were rated as excellent, 316 (25.2%) are good, 477 (38%) are average, 186 (14.9%) are below average and 47 (3.7%) are unsatisfactory.
