HIGHLIGHTS: Robert Lee tops Bronte in Coke County rivalry

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — In the 102nd meeting of the Coke County rivalry, the Robert Lee Steers were too much for the Bronte Longhorns in a 54-8 victory Friday night at Griffith Stadium in Robert Lee.

Robert Lee now leads the all-time series 50-48-4 after a third consecutive win against it longtime rival. The Steers improved to 4-2, while dropping the Longhorns to 1-5. Bronte’s last win in the series was in 2021.

The Steers built a 22-0 cushion midway through the second quarter and never looked back.

Robert Lee will open district at home against Irion County next week. Bronte hopes to get back on the winning track when the Longhorns open district on the road against Loraine.
