A day after Hurricane Milton exited Florida, at least 17 deaths have been attributed to the storm and communities around the state have just begun to clean up from destructive tornadoes, flooding and winds.
The storm made landfall Wednesday night near Siesta Key in Sarasota County as a Category 3 storm before continuing to Central Florida and the Orlando area and exiting through Brevard County Thursday.
Milton left a path of destruction throughout the state, including damaging homes, buildings, boats and other infrastructure throughout Sarasota.
