The official state funeral honoring the life of former President Jimmy Carter will take place Thursday, a day President Joe Biden has declared a national day of mourning, at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington D.C.

Carter died at age 100 in his hometown of Plains, Georgia in late December. Official ceremonies commemorating the former president began Jan. 4. His remains arrived Tuesday at the U.S. Capitol, where members of Congress paid their final respects.

The former president’s casket will carried Thursday out of the Capitol Rotunda, marking the beginning of its final journey back to Georgia.

When is Jimmy Carter’s national funeral service?

A national funeral service for Carter is scheduled to begin 10 a.m. ET, Thursday.

Funeral schedule Thursday, Jan. 9, for Jimmy Carter

Thursday’s schedule of events honoring Carter includes motorcades and military flyovers, according to the Joint Task Force-National Capital Region and the U.S. Army Military District of Washington, who are tasked with overseeing the ceremonies.

Here’s the full schedule of events for Thursday, Jan. 9 (all times are ET) via the JTF-NCR:

  • 7 a.m.: Lying in state concludes.

  • 8:45 a.m.: The Carter family departs from Blair House by motorcade.

  • 9 a.m.: Departure ceremony from the U.S. Capitol.

  • 9:15 a.m.: The motorcade departs for Washington National Cathedral.

  • 9:30 a.m.: Carter’s remains and his family arrive at the Washington National Cathedral.

  • 9:55 a.m.: Carter’s remains are carried into the cathedral during a brief arrival ceremony.

  • 10 a.m.: National Funeral Service.

  • 11 a.m.: Departure ceremony from Washington National Cathedral.

  • 11:15 a.m.: The motorcade departs for Joint Base Andrews, Maryland.

  • 11:45 a.m.: The late president and his family arrive at Joint Base Andrews and board Special Air Mission 39 after a brief departure ceremony.

  • 12:15 p.m.: Special Air Mission 39 departs for Lawson Army Airfield, Fort Moore, Georgia.

  • 2 p.m.: Special Air Mission 39 arrives at Lawson Army Airfield and Carter’s remains are transferred with ceremony to the hearse.

  • 2:30 p.m.: The motorcade departs for Maranatha Baptist Church, Plains, Georgia.

  • 3:30 p.m.: Arrival ceremony at Maranatha Baptist Church.

  • 3:45 p.m.: Private funeral service.

  • 4:30 p.m.: Departure ceremony from Maranatha Baptist Church.

  • 4:45 p.m.: The late president and his family travel by motorcade through downtown Plains. The public is invited to line the motorcade route as Carter makes his final journey through his beloved hometown.

  • 5:20 p.m.: The motorcade arrives at the Carter residence for a private interment. Prior to interment and shortly after the motorcade’s arrival at the residence, the U.S. Navy will conduct a missing man formation flyover in honor of former President Carter’s naval service and time as commander-in-chief.

Most major news networks will air live coverage Thursday of Carter’s state funeral. They include streaming on ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX, NBC and PBS, among other networks.

    • What: Streaming online, host Diane Macedo of ABC News Live First will air the funeral procession of Carter’s remains followed by a simulcast of network-wide coverage. David Muir, anchor of “World News Tonight,” will lead coverage of Carter’s funeral along with Sunday anchor Linsey David. ABC News announced Monday additional programming will stream on Disney+ and Hulu.

    • When: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET, Thursday

  • CBS News

    • When: Throughout the day, Thursday.

    • What: Norah O’Donnell will anchor CBS News 24/7 joined by John Dickerson, Margaret Brennan, Robert Costa, Bob Schieffer and others, according to AdWeek. O’Donnell will host a special report Thursday afternoon from Maranatha Baptist Church in Georgia.
