As team captain for the LaPorte County Democratic Party, I must take strong exception to the unfair and unjustified criticism leveled by a Marion County ministers group against our state chairman, Mike Schmuhl.
Briggs: Indiana Democrats did a lot of things right. It didn’t matter.
We have found Schmuhl highly responsive to the needs of local parties around the state. A good example: The moment our local party asked for help to assist our Democratic state representative, Pat Boy, who faced an unexpectedly strong challenge, Schmuhl directed two key mailings up here that helped win that tight race by 500 votes.

With all due respect to the ministerial association, they have no idea what Schmuhl has done to build our party throughout the state while operating under the disadvantage of huge headwinds at the national level.
