The suspect wanted in the shooting of a deputy from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office is dead after being shot by a Louisville Metro Police officer Saturday.
According to a release from the Indiana State Police, LMPD officers were investigating a home Saturday night in the 3700 block of Wheeler Avenue in connection with the search for 33-year-old Austin Schepers. Police in Indiana had been searching for Schepers since Friday after he reportedly shot Deputy Zach Andry when he stopped to help what he believed to be a disabled vehicle.
When Louisville officers located Schepers Saturday, an altercation followed and he was killed after being shot by an LMPD officer.
