Connecticut may be set for some exciting and not-so-exciting weather this week.

While there was murmurings of snow this past weekend, Christmas week might see the real deal in the Constitution state.

According to the National Weather Service, tomorrow, Dec. 24, there is a more than 25% likelihood of snowfall.

“A chance of snow before 8 a.m., then a chance of snow showers between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny,” NWS said about the forecast on Tuesday. “With a high near 37. Wind chill values between 25 and 35. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 40%.”

The National Weather Service is predicting light snow around Massachusetts late tonight into Christmas Eve.

Signs point to a strong likelihood that it will snow on Christmas Eve this year, according to the National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration’s forecaster’s discussion.

“The bulk of the forcing will pass north of the area, but there will be a band of light snow moving in from the west towards day break Tuesday,” the discussion said. “The light snow will be short-lived at any given location due to the narrow corridor of forcing.”

It would likely be less than an inch of snow, according to forecasts. For it to be officially considered a white Christmas, at least an inch of snow would have to be sticking to the ground.
