ITV Dancing On Ice fans left 'baffled' as they ask 'am I

The Dancing On Ice judging panel left viewers at home confused this week as they gave out their scores to the five remaining celebrities.

The ITV dance competition sent another pair home this week ahead of next week’s semi final, and viewers took to social media to air their thoughts on the latest eviction.

Reality TV star Mollie Pearce, who appeared on BBC’s The Traitors, became the latest contestant to be eliminated after dancing to Mamma Mia by Abba for Musicals Week.

Mollie and her professional skating partner Colin Grafton were placed in the bottom two alongside The Only Way Is Essex star Dan Edgar. Head judge Jayne Torvill decided to save the Essex-born reality star, sending Mollie and Colin home.

Dan impressed the judges with his Oklahoma! routine with his partner Vanessa James, despite the couple making some mistakes during their first performance, with Vanessa falling onto the ice following a lift.

Despite the mistakes, the judges said it was some of the skating from a non-professional they have seen on the show.

Meanwhile, Mollie got the lowest score of 35.5 from the judges for her performance, despite pulling off the dangerous headbanger move, which sees her swung around in a circle by the ankles.

At the top of the leaderboard was ex-footballer Anton Ferdinand, who achieved a perfect score of 40 for his Les Miserables routine with professional partner Annette Dytrt.

TV presenter Michaela Strachan and her partner Mark Hanretty were given a score of 36.5 for their routine to Cabaret, while Coronation Street actor Sam Aston donned a hat and tails to score 37 while skating to I’ll Do Anything from Oliver with partner Molly Lanaghan.

Despite all the couples getting positive feedback from the judges, viewers at home suggested there were clear ‘favourites’.

Some fans accused the panel of not judging the celebrities fairly, saying they were ‘baffled’ by some of the scores handed out.

One fans, taking to X, asked: “What is the point of this show when the judges scores don’t match what was just done on the ice?”

Viewers pointed to Dan and Vanessa’s high score, despite their clear mistake, with one fan writing: “Don’t worry about the mistakes and the fall. You still get 9.5 Dan.” Another asked: “Did they all blank during the massive fall?”

A third fan commented: “There was a fall and yet Dan scores high again, one word… favouritism!”

One claimed Dan has been “chronically overmarked” during the series, writing: “The bias towards him is sickening. There was a massive fall that should’ve been reflected in the score.”

Another echoed the comments, saying: “9.5 for a fall of that scale?! the scoring on this show is baffling.”

Others suggested Michaela should have been given a higher score, with one commenting: “I’ve just watched a perfect performance from Michaela and she got less scores than Sam (who tripped a couple of times). I’m done.”

Another asked: “Am I missing something? I thought Michaela’s skate was perfect yet the scores didn’t reflect that at all.”

One frustrated viewer fumed: “Can someone please make the scores make sense?”

Some also pointed to Anton’s perfect score suggesting his routine wasn’t worth the straight 10s he received. “No way Anton’s dance is worth a 10, these lying judges,” one wrote.

“What was that 40/40 on Dancing On Ice. Not deserved,” another said, while a final viewer suggested: “It was the song that got them 40! If Mollie had been given that song, she would have got 40.”

After learning she was being sent home from the competition, Mollie began to cry as she reflected on her time on the show.

“I’ve had the best time, and these are happy tears, because honestly, I met a friend for life,” she said.

“This has been the experience of a lifetime, I’ve loved it. I’m happy to have made it this far.”

Dancing On Ice returns for the semi-finals at 6.30pm next Sunday, when the skaters will perform solo routines.
