Emmerdale viewers believe they’ve figured out who’s conspiring with Peter (portrayed by David Michaels) and Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) to bring down Kim Tate (Claire King).

In an unexpected twist, Will rekindled his romance with Kim, leaving fans in shock. Viewers will recall that earlier this year, Will cheated on Kim, leading to a blackmail scenario.

The blackmailer tormented Will, even orchestrating a scene to suggest Kim had been murdered. However, the plot thickened when it was unveiled that Kim was the brains behind the scheme after uncovering Will’s infidelity.

This ignited a fierce rivalry between Kim and Will, with Kim resolved to shield her fortune from him. To secure her wealth, she sought the assistance of financial advisor Peter, with whom she also had a brief affair.

Recently, however, Kim chose to make peace with Will and halt their divorce proceedings, realising she still had feelings for him. The sentiment appeared to be reciprocated, and the couple quickly reignited their relationship, even planning to renew their vows on Christmas Day, reports Leeds Live.

But the storyline took a dramatic turn when it was disclosed that Peter and Will had been secretly plotting for months to undermine Kim. Adding to the suspense, Peter isn’t working alone – he’s partnered with an unidentified person determined to disrupt Kim’s life.

Sparse details about a mystery man central to the storyline have emerged, known only to be male and presently abroad. Even Will is kept in suspense over this unknown figure’s identity, catching him off-guard as he learns of another individual entangled in his dealings with Peter.

The shadowy character is expected to stir up trouble in the village just in time for Christmas Eve, potentially upending Will and Kims renewal of vows. The plot thickened in Wednesday’s episode (December 18), where the tension soared to new heights.

Feeling the pressure, Will deemed it necessary to pull the plug on the operation, only to receive an ominous warning from Peter.

With undertones of deadly seriousness, Peter cautioned: “This isn’t someone you would want to get on the wrong side of. If you want to see in the New Year, you better stick to the plan.”

As speculations arise that Kim might be Peter’s covert accomplice, viewers are left to contemplate the bleak chances of Will escaping untoward consequences as the festive period looms.

In a thread on a Facebook fan page dedicated to the soap, one fan suggested it is Joe Tate’s (Ned Porteous) father, Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough), who is working with Peter.

Another agreed: “That’s who I thought as well.”

Someone else suggested: “I’m thinking Joe.”

“Imagine if Frank or Chris Tate come back from the dead…now that would be a Christmas storyline to remember,” a fourth theorised.

“That looks like Caleb, but I still think it is Kim double bluffing,” another shared while one added: “Jamie, Kim’s son maybe?”
