The two people critically injured in Saturday’s attempted assassination of Donald Trump were both Pennsylvania residents.
A gunman took aim at the former president as he gave a speech during a political rally at Butler Farm Show Grounds in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The shooter, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, struck Trump at least once in the ear, killed a rally attendee seated in the stands behind the GOP candidate and wounded two others.
On Sunday, those victims were identified as James Copenhaver, 74, and David Dutch, 57.
Who was shot at Trump rally?
The man who was killed was identified early Sunday as Corey Comperatore a father of two girls, a firefighter and avid Trump supporter.
Trump has lent his support to a GoFundMe campaign for rally attendees and victims.
The two injured attendees were both said to be in stable condition on Sunday night.
Copenhaver is from Moon, Pennsylvania; Dutch is from New Kensington, Pennsylvania. Both towns are a short drive from Butler, where the rally was held.
Moon is a suburb of Pittsburgh and lies about 12 miles outside of the city. New Kensington is a neighboring town about 30 miles outside of Butler.
