Aug. 23—JAMESTOWN — A 63-year-old Jamestown woman is facing a terrorizing charge, a Class C felony, after allegedly threatening to shoot her boss at Menards, according to court documents.
Marilyn Kay Hetlevedt was arrested Tuesday, Aug. 20, and booked into the Stutsman County Correctional Center. She was released Wednesday, Aug. 21, after posting a $500 bond. She was also given a no-contact order.
Hetlevedt is accused of threatening or menacing another with imminent bodily injury with a firearm on Tuesday, Aug. 20, according to court documents.
The manager who was allegedly threatened told a Jamestown Police Department officer that Hetlevedt was upset that her hours were being cut and thought she was going to be forced to quit or be terminated, court documents say.
Hetlevedt told a co-worker that she was going to get her AR-15 rifle from her home and “come back and show him,” court documents say. The co-worker informed the manager what Hetlevedt said.
The manager thought his life could be in danger because of the statements being made, court documents say. The manager showed police two Facebook photos that Hetlevedt posted of herself — one with her holding what appears to be an AR and the other a revolver handgun.
Court documents say Hetlevedt was terminated from Menards and was issued a no-trespass order from the business’ property.
Hetlevedt’s vehicle was located in the parking lot of Hugo’s Family Marketplace, and Jamestown police officers arrested Hetlevedt.
Hetlevedt told officers that she did say, “she should walk in there with an AR-15 and open fire” and “it was probably a bad joke,” according to court documents. Hetlevedt also told officers that “she would walk back and shoot him or anyone else in the store,” court documents say.
Hetlevedt’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 18 and a jury trial has been set to begin on Dec. 26.
She faces a mandatory minimum of two years in prison if she is convicted.
A Class C felony is punishable by five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
