K-POP Awards Ceremony MAMA AWARDS Grand Opening in Japan


Yonhap News Agency, Seoul, November 30th. The K-POP awards ceremony "MAMA AWARDS" held by Korean cable TV station Mnet was grandly opened in Osaka, Japan on the 29th and lasted for two days.
BTS won the Yogibo Worldwide Icon of the Year, one of four awards. Boy groups Stray Kids, SEVENTEEN, TREASURE, TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT), GOT7, NCT DREAM, ENHYPEN, BTS, PSY and girl group BLACKPINK won the "Worldwide Fan's Choice" .
MAMA AWARDS set up a new "Favorite New Artist" this time, and the new girl groups IVE, NMIXX, LE SSERAFIM and Kep1er won this honor.
It is worth noting that KARA, one of the second generation of Korean girl groups, will come back together after 7 years and 6 months. KARA released the 15th anniversary commemorative album "MOVE AGAIN" the day before, and sang the title song "WHEN I MOVE" of the new album, as well as hit songs such as "Lupin", "STEP" and "Mr." at the awards ceremony.
The awards ceremony entered its second day on the 30th. BTS member j-hope (Jung Hoseok), the band Purple Rain Forest, and girl groups (G)I-DLE, IVE, and ITZY will perform on stage. (Finish)
