Regarding the article, “Nearly $73M is coming for Amtrak.” I just returned from an Amtrak trip from Chicago to Flagstaff, Arizona.
I had never been on a train that long. The staff were awesome. But when we had to get our connecting train from Chicago to Milwaukee, it was delayed because of a mechanical repair.
More and more people take trains for long trips and day trips. This injection of money will certainly go a long way to keep this vital transportation running now and for the future.

Opinion: America needs to admit it’s not ‘better than this.’ It elected Trump, again.
