Jan. 18—LEWISTON — The city will have a winter parking ban in effect from 7 p.m. Sunday through 9 a.m. Monday, according to a news release.
All vehicles must be moved from all city streets before 7 p.m. Sunday or fines will be issued. Towing will be at owner’s expense.
Streets must be cleared for the Lewiston Public Works crew to remove snow from the streets. For more information on winter parking bans, visit www.lewistonmaine.gov/WPB.

Lewiston’s parking garages will be open. They are located at: Centreville Garage, 62 Canal St.; Chestnut Street Garage, 29 Chestnut St.; Lincoln Street Garage, 16 Lincoln St.; Oak Street Garage, 1 Oak St.; and Southern Gateway Garage, 425 Lisbon St. When using municipal garages, take a parking ticket upon entry and keep it in order to exit. Parking is free weekdays between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. as well as weekends.
Trash and recycling collection will happen as best as possible, the release states, asking residents to have trash and recycling curbside by 7 a.m.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Monday, so the Solid Waste Facility at 420 River Road, as well as City Hall at 27 Pine St., will be closed.
