List of resources from state agencies, other organization

The business development team at the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, plus other agencies and organizations, offers tools to support business growth and community prosperity.

Weatherization Assistance Program: A no-cost program that improves the energy efficiency of homes. Who’s eligible? Low-income Oklahoma households (who either rent or own their home) and who are at or below 200% of the poverty level. Priority is given to people who are 60 years and older, differently abled, families with children, those with high energy burdens, and those who are high residential energy users.

Anyone receiving or has documentation verifying eligibility for the following are automaticallyeligible under Department of Energy guidelines:

  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

  • Low Income Home Energy Assistance(LIHEAP)

  • Temporary Assistance to Needy Families(TANF)

  • U.S. Department of Housing and UrbanDevelopment (HUD) services

  • HOME Investment Partnership Program(HOME)

  • Lead Hazard Control & Healthy HomesProgram (OLHCHH)

  • Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)program

State programs, including Community Expansion of Nutrition Assistance (CENA), Rural Economic Action Plan (REAP), which appropriates funding for small, rural communities with populations under 7,000.

Business Expansion Incentive Program: Helps Oklahoma companies grow and boosts business expansion investments in the state through cash payment awards for qualifying capital investment.

SIDE Act ― The Strategic Industrial Development Enhancement (SIDE) Act: Promotes the competitiveness of rural industrial parks by improving connections between railroads and industrial park developments.

USDA

The U.S. Department of Agriculture offers several types of programs through the Oklahoma Rural Development State Office. Among them are loans and grants for energy efficiency improvements, water and waste water disposal, to develop community facilities, and for people in communities presidentially declared as disaster areas.

There’s also a program for socially-disadvantaged communities, which provides technical assistance through cooperatives and Cooperative Development Centers.

USDA grant applications may have varying deadlines throughout the year.
