Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland branches closing in March

Lloyds Banking Group have announced they are closing another 21 branches across England and Scotland this March.

Lloyds is set to close 13 of its banks, Halifax will shut seven of its branches and Bank of Scotland will see one of its sites close, the Mirror reports.

Because many people rely on face-to-face banking, other nearby Lloyds Banking Group sites will be offering everyday banking services for people whose local branch is closing. For example, people who have an account with Lloyds will be able to use their nearest Halifax or Bank of Scotland. Among other services, cash deposits, withdrawals and paying in cheques will all be available to do at the sites.

‘Community bankers’ – bankers set up in a local community venue to help with banking account issues – are available in certain areas but are not able to help with cash or counter services.

The Post Office will also be available for Lloyds Banking Group customers to pay in and withdraw cash, check their balance and deposit cheques.

Banks and building societies have closed 6,266 branches since January 2015 – 63% of branches open at the start of 2015 – at a rate of around 53 each month, according to data from Which?

At the moment, there are 282 closures scheduled for 2025. Below is the full list of branch closures for Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland, and the date that they are set to close.
