Man accused of killing another at Forest Park bar has history of illegally carrying guns

A North College Hill man, who was on probation for illegally carrying a gun, was charged with murder Wednesday in a fatal shooting at a Forest Park bar.

Michael Leon Talley Jr., 49, is charged with murder in the Aug. 29 killing of Willie Lee Clark, 37, at the Cruise Inn bar on Northland Boulevard.

Forest Park police officials said Talley and Clark were arguing before Talley pulled out a gun and shot Clark multiple times.

Court records show Talley should not have had a firearm due to an aggravated robbery conviction in 1994. He’s been convicted of illegally carrying a gun at least four times since 2004. In each of the cases, Talley was sentenced to probation.

His most recent weapons conviction was this March. In that case, police said he was found sleeping in a car with a loaded 9mm pistol on his hip. His sentence in that case was five years probation and being ordered to take a cognitive behavioral intervention class.

Talley was arrested Wednesday without incident. He is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center while awaiting his next hearing.
