Man arrested in Gastonia hit and run during which a car drove into a house

A Bessemer City man has been arrested and accused of running another driver off the road causing him to crash into a house.

Logan Thomas Bowling, 37, is accused of causing the wreck on Aug. 30 that forced 67-year-old Michael Barrett’s black Ford Focus off the road and into a house at the intersection of South New Hope Road and Court Drive.

The white van paused, then turned onto Court Drive and drove off after Barrett wrecked, according to police.

Barrett was carrying a pregnant passenger at the time of the wreck.

Bowling turned himself in Monday evening, after a tip led police to his workplace. He is charged with felony hit and run, along with a traffic charge. He was released from custody after posting a $15,000 bond.
