Man ‘in wheelchair’ stabbed to death in east London

A man “in a wheelchair” has been stabbed to death on a street in east London.

Scotland Yard said officers responded to reports of a fight in Rushmore Road, Clapton, shortly after 3.30pm on Wednesday.

London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance arrived and found the victim with a stab injury.

Despite the efforts of the emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Local residents at the police cordon said that the victim was a black man in his 30s who had an amputated leg — caused by a road accident — and used a wheelchair.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said that two men have been arrested.

Officers are working to inform the victim’s next of kin.
