Man United ‘handed’ Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford transfer exit option in Manuel Ugarte boost

Manchester United and Jadon Sancho could finally part ways this summer with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly pushing to sign the winger on loan with an obligation to buy.

Sancho was reintegrated back into Erik ten Hag’s squad this summer after a fall-out last September. The winger made his United return in the Community Shield penalty defeat on Saturday having last featured for the club last August before returning to Borussia Dortmund on loan in the second half of last season.

Despite playing a part in the Red Devils’ pre-season schedule, question marks still remain over his long-term at Old Trafford. Links to PSG first emerged earlier in the window and a move to the Ligue 1 champions is now said to be progressing.

According to The Independent, negotiations between the two clubs have led to a possible deal that would see the 24-year-old join Luis Enrique’s side on loan. A potential deal could also see Manuel Ugarte, United’s first-choice target in midfield, finally move to Old Trafford.

Surprisingly, Marcus Rashford is understood to have been mentioned as part of the negotiations. PSG have held a long-standing interest in the versatile forward but it is claimed that a deal for Rashford is currently unlikely.

The report goes on to state that Sancho would be willing to join PSG in the hope of reviving his career. As part of the deal, United are hopeful of advancing in their pursuit for Ugarte.

Discussions continue to be had between the midfielder’s agent, Jorge Mendes, and United after the parties agreed personal terms earlier in the week. The stumbling block in a deal is believed to be down to the gap in valuation of the Uruguay international.

A deal that would see Sancho move to the Parc des Princes would automatically bolster United’s hopes of landing Ugarte. His arrival would mean Ten Hag has improved all of his priority positions this summer following the arrivals of Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
