A man with his family at Cougar Park in Socorro was wounded in a shooting when the occupants of two cars began firing handguns earlier this summer.
The unsolved shooting on June 20 at Cougar Park is Crime Stoppers of El Paso’s Crime of the Week.

There were several people at the park when Socorro police responded to the shooting call at 11:10 p.m. on the Thursday night of June 20, Crime Stoppers said.
The man had gone to the park with his family shortly before two cars entered and began driving recklessly inside the park at 10664 Socorro Road, Crime Stoppers said.

Witnesses told Socorro police that the occupants from both cars fired handguns several times, wounding the man, Crime Stoppers said. One car was a gray Dodge Charger and the other was a maroon-colored Nissan sedan. The cars, which were recorded on security camera video, were last seen leaving west toward El Paso.
