A 27-year-old man was arrested in connection to a double shooting on Monday.
Charges against the man will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office, the Milwaukee Police Department said in a news release. The Monday shooting resulted in the deaths of two men and occurred on the 3800 block of West Nash Street, police said previously.
Rodney Walls, 36, and Deontay Long, 24, both of Milwaukee, were identified as the victim, according to reports from the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office. Families for Walls declined comment and Long’s family could not be reached by the Journal Sentinel on Tuesday.

The department did not answer questions regarding the motive for shooting, citing the investigation as ongoing.
Monday’s fatal shootings were at least the 128th reported homicides so far this year in Milwaukee, according to police data. That’s about 40% less than two years ago and about 25% less than last year at this time.
On Christmas Day, police were investigating other reports of violence as well, including a 6-year-old child who was shot and taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
