Motorcyclist, 37, killed after crash with sedan near Tice

A 37-year-old Fort Myers man is dead after his motorcycle collided with a sedan Friday night on Palm Beach Boulevard near Tice.

The motorcyclist was heading east in the inside lane of Palm Beach Boulevard at about 10 p.m. Meanwhile, a 47-year-old North Fort Myers woman was driving the sedan north on Alta Vista Avenue and had reached the intersection of Palm Beach (State Road 80).

The sedan turned right onto eastbound Palm Beach, attempting to cross all eastbound lanes and entered the path of the motorcyclist, according to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol.

The front of the motorcycle hit the sedan and threw the motorcyclist, the report said. He was transported to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.
