Nashville police arrested a man Tuesday after another was shot behind a Madison car dealership and died shortly afterwards over the weekend.
Juan Ramirez-Guerra, 29, was taken into custody on Pillow Street in Wedgewood Houston, Nashville Police said in a statement late Tuesday. He was booked into the Downtown Detention Center on a charge of criminal homicide in connection with the death of 28-year-old Edin Delacruz-Reyes.
Police were called to the rear parking lot of a car dealership in the 1300 block of Gallatin Pike at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday. Delacruz-Reyes suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to Skyline Medical Center but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Both men had gathered in the parking lot with several others drinking, according to Ramirez-Guerra’s arrest affidavit. The two men then walked a short distance away. Shortly after, there was gunfire, police said.
“The witnesses advised that they did not hear or see any argument or fight between the two however the defendant was seen pointing a handgun at the victim and fired multiple times,” according to the affidavit.
Ramirez-Guerra then fled the scene, but witnesses were able to give police a picture of him, leading to his arrest.
Ramirez-Guerra is being held on a $150,000 bond.
