A 37-year-old man died during an attempted robbery on Sunday morning in Patricia Heights, a neighborhood near the BNA International Airport.
The Metro Nashville Police Department said in a news release that four men approached two other men in an apartment complex and demanded the two men give over their belongings around 12:10 a.m. One of the two men refused, and one of the four burglars shot the man in the stomach. The victim later died of his injury at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The second victim escaped from the scene, but only after the four burglars took his wallet and cash, passport, and Guatemalan ID, the MNPD said in a news release. One of the burglars had threatened to kill the second victim when they took his belongings.
Police are searching for any information related to the robbery and murder and encourage people to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
