An officer at the Nashville-Davidson County Sheriff’s Office is in stable condition after an incident with two jail inmates Thursday, officials said Friday morning.
Christopher Ashburn was assaulted by the two inmates around 10:40 a.m. Thursday, according to a Davidson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson.
The spokesperson declined to answer questions about what led up to the assault or name the two inmates involved.
The assault remains under investigation.
Ashburn has been employed by the sheriff’s office since March 2023. He remained at Vanderbilt University Medical Center Friday.
