NATO stands with Turkey after four people were killed in an attack on a defence company in Ankara, Secretary General Mark Rutte told Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan via telephone.
“Deeply concerning reports of dead and wounded in Ankara,” Rutte said in his first reaction to reports of the attack in a post on X.
“We strongly condemn terrorism in all its forms and are monitoring developments closely,” he added. Turkey has been a member of NATO since 1952.
Police and emergency workers are responding to the attack on Turkish aerospace company TUSAS, a developer and producer of aerospace systems, such as combat aircraft and drones.
