NEW BEDFORD — A New Bedford woman is thanking her lucky stars after a simple trip to the convenience store turned into a dream come true.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Julia Da Rosa of New Bedford is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$1,000,000 Ultimate 7” instant ticket game.

Choosing the one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes, Da Rosa plans on using the winnings to buy herself a house.

The $5 “$1,000,000 Ultimate 7” ticket has three more $1 million prizes left to claim with 1 in 3,024,000 odds.

The winning ticket was bought at Petro Mart 2, at 258 Orchard St., New Bedford. They received a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
