One killed in crash on Interstate 270 south in northeast Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Interstate 270 South in northeast Columbus was shut down all Monday morning after a fatal crash.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said the crash occurred just after 8:30 a.m. in Blendon Township when a Honda “abruptly” changed lanes and hit a Buick in the driver’s side mirror. The Honda continued and then hit a semi-trailer.

The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:45 a.m., and the driver of the semi was stable and taken to a hospital. The driver of the Buick was not injured, per the sheriff’s office.

I-270 South was shut down from State Route 161 to Westerville Road throughout the morning. The road reopened just before 1:30 p.m. Follow this link for the latest traffic conditions.
