One killed, two injured in Independence Day motorcycle crash in Anne Arundel County

A person was killed and two others were injured in a motorcycle crash Thursday in Anne Arundel County.

At about 9:11 p.m., Anne Arundel County Police officers responded to northbound Route 4 (Southern Maryland Boulevard) near Talbot Road in the Lothian area for a crash involving two vehicles.

The investigation showed a 2015 Dodge Charger was driving north on Route 4 when the driver made a U-turn while a 2015 Yamaha motorcycle was driving north on Route 4.

As the Dodge Charger made the U-turn, the Yamaha motorcycle hit the Dodge Charger. The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene by fire department personnel.

The driver and passenger of the Dodge were transported to a hospital in Calvert County. This crash is under investigation by the Traffic Safety Section.
